Butterflies

A gorgeous sunny Sunday in August. The perfect day for a photo shoot! Jo and I have been trying to get together to take some shots for months. Id talked to her about a new concept I had when there was still snow on the ground... its taken us this long to just get out and do it. Can I just say how amazingly gorgeous Josi is! And she had never had her photo taken before. She was super fun to work with, a real natural, I had so many shots to choose from. In case you wonder where we took them, the butterflies were in her home in front of a huge window with sun light pouring in. The indoor ones turned out quite grainy because of the intense light. Im a softy for natural lighting, and this was ah-ma-zing. The outdoor shots were by the Canal in Verdun.

Rooted

Ive been wanting to start to write about my photos for quite awhile. I just had to start taking pictures again! My relationship with photography is turning into quite the love-hate one. We have currently entered the love zone after an almost 3 year hiatus! I had an awesome amazing creative welcome-back shoot today. And what a coincidence because the last one I did (while I was pregnant with my son in 2010) was with Caroline. Id been inspired by the lashes when I saw them on ebay and since Id photographed Caroline before I knew she could wear them well. I really loved playing with the light and trying to capture a sort of native, wood-nymph feel. Caroline has this really hard high-fashion look that really worked out for what I was going for. We spent maybe 2 hours outside getting bitten by starving June mosquitos, she was a super-trooper! These were taken on top of a beautiful clearing in St Eustache.
